Refresher Course
In 2002 -
2003 refresher course concerning the Vedas was arranged by the department. 57
reputed teachers from different universities of the country participated in it
and delivered lectures.
NET, Junior Research Fellowship and Ph.D.
Out of four students qualifying for NET the last and the present session, three
are now JRF. In the year 2002-2003 and 2003-2004, 22 researchers were awarded
Ph.D. degree.
Participation in Conferences
In February 2003
Prof. Banarsi Tripathi and Dr. Kapil Deo Shukla presented their research papers
in all India Prachya Vidya Confrence held in Puri. Dr. Kapil Deo Shukla presented
his research papers in Ram nagar, Varansi and in the conference organized by Sanskrit
academy Delhi.
Publication of Research Paper
The research papers of
Prof. Banarsi Tripathi, Dr. Kapil Deo Shukla, Prof. Asahab Ali and Dr. Sridhar
Mishra, were published in "Saraswati Sushma", Ritawasi, Ajsu, Pawmavi
etc., journals.
Major Research Project
Dr. Dasharath Dewivedi,
the Former Head of the Department completed a major research project and got another
major research project on "Sahitya Shashtra" from the UGC and he has
been working on it. Dr. Umesh Chandra Pandey the Ex-Head of the Department also
has a major research project on "Vedic Deoshashtra" from the UGC and
he has started to work as a chief of researcher in the department since 1st July
2003.
Special Lectures
During August and September 2003 Special
lectures of Prof. Rewati Raman Pandey Ex-Vice Chancellor, Gorakhpur University
and Prof. Rajendra Mishra "Abhiraj" were arranged by the department.
Hon'ble
Justice Harish Chandra Pati Tripathi
For the first time scholarship of
Rs. Five Thousand each by Hon'ble justice H.C. Pati Tripathi Memorial Trust Allahabad
was awarded to a meritorious but poor boy and girl student studying in M.A. final.
The worthy son and daughter of the Hon'ble Justice Tripathi, distributed the scholarship
in the function held in the department under the president ship of Prof. Maheshwar
Mishra.
Establishment of Informal Sanskrit Teaching Centre
This
department was selected for this purpose in 2001-2002 under the scheme of easy
Sanskrit speaking collaborated by the ministry of Human Resource Development New
Delhi. Many students took part in it regularly and got certificates.
In
collaboration with Rashtrya Sanskrit Sansthan (Deemed University) Janakpur, Delhi,
centre for informal Sanskrit teaching was started here in 2003-04. Since then
it has been functioning and more than 50 participants regularly attend the classes.
