Dr. Dinesh Singh and Dr. Shree Prakash
Mani Tripathi (both Readers) have participated in the seminar held at Khalilabad.
Both of them have delivered lectures respectively on ‘Political Modernization’
and ‘The World in the 21st Century’ at the above mentioned second Refresher
Course in Political Science.
Dr. Subha Rao (Senior Lecturer) has
been awarded the Ph. D. Degree and has authored a book entitled An Introduction
to Popper’s Scientific Method : the realm of Conjectures and refutation,
besides editing and publishing the first issue of biennial journal Either/Or.
Dr.
Rajesh Kumar Singh, Dr. Rajanikant Pandey, Dr. Vineeta Pathak and Dr. Rushi Ram
Mahananda (all Lecturers) have attended the afore said Refresher Course in
Political Science. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Singh has presented a paper on “Globalization
and relevance of Gandhism” at the All India Political Science Association
held in Meerut.
Some of our colleagues have also been assigned with administrative
duties. Dr. Shree Prakash Mani Tripathi has taken over the charge of Chief Proctor.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar Singh is also in the team of proctorial Board. Dr. Rajanikant
Pandey is Hostel Superintendent and Assistant Dean, Students’ Welfare and
Dr. Vineeta Pathak has recently taken over the charge as C.T.O. of NCC. 15 UP
Girls’ Battalion, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur.
The
Department has been organizing Mock Parliament from time to time. Last year Dr.
Rajanikant Pandey had organized it at the University level.
Prof. Indra
Deo Mishra has participated in five national seminars held at Kashi Vidyapeeth,
B. H.U., Haldwani (Uttranchal) and some other places, on themes like Electoral
Reform, Right to Information, terrorism, the Enigma of North- East States; Democracy,
Development and Conflict management etc. He attended a workshop at the Department
of Public Administration, Lucknow University, Lucknow on the use of technical
terms in Public Administration organized by Scientific and Technical terms Commission,
Human Resource Ministry, Government of India, New Delhi; Prof. Mishra has also
delivered lectures on Post modernism, Revival of traditional Political theory,
Hegel’s Science of Logic etc. at Lucknow University, Lucknow and B. R. Ambedkar
University, Muzaffarpur.
