The Department of Political Science ever
since its establishment in 1958 came into prominence through teaching and research
in the core areas of Political Science. Shri J. N. Tewari, Prof. Raghuveer Singh,
Prof. Ram Krishna Mani Tripathi, Prof. B.V. Dixit, Prof. Krishnand, Dr. Bhale
Rao, Prof. S. K. Jha, Dr. K. N. Sinha, Dr. (Mrs.) Meera Bhattacharya, Prof. C.
B. Singh and others were the names in the past, who with their academic excellence
helped to raise the Department into prominence especially in the area of Political
theory, Government and Politics, Public Administration and International Politics.
These core areas continue to be integral part of our teaching and research curriculum,
although amidst increasing difficulties and decreasing facilities in terms of
basic infrastructure.
