From academic, constructive and research
point of view, Department of Hindi, Modern Indian Languages and Journalism is
an important department of the university. It was established in 1958. Dr. Ram
Shankar 'Rasal', the most reputed scholar was its first Head. After him famous
teacher like Prof. Kessari Narain Shukla, Prof. Gopi Nath Tiwari, Prof. Ram Chandra
Tiwari, Prof. Satya Narain Tripathi, Prof. Srimati Shanta Singh, Prof. Jagdish
N. Srivastava, Smt. Girish Rastogi, Prof. Ram Deo Shukla and Prof. Vishwanath
P.D. Tiwari successively became its Head. Besides these Dr. Devarishi Sanadhya,
Dr. Sripati Sharma, Prof. Permanand Srivastava, Dr. Vishnu Deo Dwivedi, Prof.
Anand Prakash Dixit and Dr. Trilochan Pandey too have not only influenced the
Hindi world with their academic, constructive and thinking of process activities,
but also brought the name of this department on the global map. At present Prof.
Anant Mishra is working as Head and Professor of the Department. There are eight
professors, three readers and three lecturers in this department at present. Post
of two professors and three lecturers are vacant. Prof. K.C. Lal, Prof. Surendra
Dubey, Prof. Sadanand P.D. Gupta, Prof. Prof. Janardan, Prof. Smt. Purnima Satya
Deo, Prof. CHitranjan Mishra, Prof. Ram Darsh Rai, Readers Dr. Ganesh Prasad Pandey,
Dr. Smt. Manju Tripathi, and Dr. Anil Kumar Rai and Lecturers Dr. Kamlesh Kumar
Gupta, Dr. Deepak Prakash Tyagi & Dr. Vimlesh KUmar Mishra, have at present
been doing their best through their research papers constructive thought and activities
to enhance the glory and pride of the department on the global map.
