| The primary goal of an educational institution
is to serve the society in the most effective way it can. The department of Commerce,
DDU Gorakhpur University, being conscious of its social obligations, has drawn
plans to undertake a variety of research projects proposing to make a deep probe
into the various relevant problems faced by the local trade/industry and other
segments of the business arena and to explore and suggest opportunities suited
to their needs and potentials. The problem of unemployment is obliterating briskly
the prospects of growth of the region and overwrought by this, the local youth
prefer to migrate to industrialized venues for vocation. These research projects
would, on the one had, help build up a platform for meaningful interaction between
the researchers and the business community and on the other, supply inputs of
knowledge and awareness to the local youth so that they could be able to find
out ways and means to earn their livelihood locally. In view of the challenges
posed by the changes taking place in the field of Commerce education at the global
level, the department is going to introduce a variety of value added courses relating
to e-commerce, on-line Marketing, BPO, e-Banking, Insurance, Salesmanship and
Advertising at the UG level along with different management courses at the PG
level, viz., Master of Financial Studies (MFS) and Master of International Business
Management (MIBM). These courses would be operative in coordination with the proposed
Distance education program of the University. |  |
